Much of my life has been made up of photography, in one form or another. I
remember my very first box camera. It took a spool of 127 film and was a 'joy'
to load. In high school journalism, I started using my Dad's old Argus C3
which even came with multiple lenses. Then on to my first SLR, a GAF 35mm
as I started working in a camera store. Today, after spending many of my years
selling and working in the photography business, I still find my self using my original
Nikormat EL 35mm automatic, along with a sweet little Pentax zoom rangefinder.
Obviously with a background like this, I must have a ton of pictures. And
now that I can access them through my computer, I offer some of them here for your
enjoyment. Each link takes you to a page of thumbnail images which can be
clicked on for the full size picture.
Since I have so many pictures and don't feel like storing them all on this web sight
(management and cost reasons), I will occasionally rotate new ones into the mix.
To limit how much space is in use on the server and keep the download times to a
minimum, all images are grouped in pages by subject as thumbnails. From each image
a larger image can be viewed on the displays by clicking directly on the thumbnail
image desired. Please note that this larger image is also constrained for maximum
quick access time/quality on the screen. They do not have enough resolution for
printing from. If interested, please contact me about obtaining a higher resolution
copy.
The first pictures that I put up last year were scanned in from 4" x 6"
prints with reasonable if not great resolution. Since then I have acquired a Nikon
LS-2000 negative/slide scanner so all the new images are of much higher quality.
By default, the images on this sight will be the higher quality scanned in with
the Nikon. However, a special icon will mark the groups that were scanned in directly
from a print or other source, with the resulting lower quality.
Please note that even the higher quality images are limited in resolution on this web sight to speed up downloading. They have been optimized both for speed and computer monitor viewing (72 dpi, ~600 x ~400 pixels per side). They do not contain enough detail to make quality prints from. If interested in printing any of the images on this sight, please email me.scanner image : indicates a lower resolution image
