I finally moved into my first personally owned PUD. For those of you not used
to the expensive and acronym based California lifestyles, PUD stands for 'Private
Unit Development'. Also, since I can't stand the term PUD and since I am paying
so much for this place, I shall humor myself and call it a townhouse.
My townhouse is located in Redwood City and is convenient to both the major population
centers of the region. It is 25 minutes from both San Francisco and San Jose (Silicon
Valley). I have access to the ocean in about 30 minutes and bay area parklands within
10 minutes. Great hiking is only 20 minutes away and I have choices of jobs on all
sides of me.
The townhouse grouping (Lincoln Place) is made up of four separate buildings which
you might call duplexes, all sharing a common driveway. Each building is about three
stories tall (land is not cheap so we build up!).
My place has two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a large hardwood floor dining area and spacious
kitchen, a beautiful patio (hot tub is my next project), two balconies, a fireplace,
and a two car garage (attached and with new shelving - just call me little ol' handyman).
Since words only can say so much, here are a few snapshots to give a better idea
of what this place looks like. Unfortunately, I did not have a fisheye lens to allow
me to photograph my place as I would like, but I believe that these snapshots will
give you a reasonable impression. Just click on the thumbnails in the pictures page
for larger images.
Enjoy!
